The British Museum

The British Museum is one of the most famous museums in London and attracts millions of visitors annually. It was established by Sir Hans Sloane in 1753 and was later opened to the public in 1759. The museum holds over eight million objects from different parts of the world, including ancient sculptures, jewellery, coins, manuscripts and paintings.

The museum also has an extensive library which houses over 150 languages, including Latin, Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphics, Chinese and Hebrew. The British Museum is located on Great Russell Street near Tottenham Court Road Station, making it easy to reach by public transportation or Chauffuers London.

The Tower of London (Tower Hill)

The Tower of London was built by William the Conqueror in 1066 A.D. The tower served as a royal residence for over 500 years and was used as a prison until 1952, when it became a museum.

Today, tourists come here to see its famous ravens and medieval weapons collection and other exhibits like suits of armour and jewels from past kings and queens of England’s throne, including Queen Elizabeth II herself!

The London Eye

Located on the south bank of the River Thames, The London Eye is one of London’s most popular tourist attractions. It is also known as “the big wheel”. It’s situated next to County Hall and views excellent parts of London.

The Gherkin and Canary Wharf can be seen from here. In addition, two other smaller wheels next to it also provide an excellent view. If you want a good view of central London at night, head for the observation deck at half past nine when it opens up again after closing at 6 pm in winter.

Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is another historical landmark that you won’t want to miss while visiting London. This palace has been home to Britain’s monarchs since 1703, when King George III moved here from St James’ Palace (now known as the Palace of Westminster).

Today, visitors can tour the State Rooms and Gardens on weekdays during the summer months (July through September) or by special appointment at other times.

Tower Bridge

This bridge is another landmark you’ll find on any tourist map of London because it’s one of the most recognisable structures in the city (and probably anywhere else too).

It was built between 1886 and 1894 and had two towers that rose over 100 metres into the sky and crossed over both banks of the River Thames.

St. Paul’s Cathedral

St Paul’s Cathedral is one of the most beautiful buildings in London and was designed by Sir Christopher Wren after he rebuilt much of London after it was destroyed by fire during The Great Fire Of London in 1666.

It has been used for religious services since 1697 and is still used for weddings, funerals, and other church events such as baptisms or confirmations. There are guided tours available inside St Paul’s Cathedral that show visitors around.

Big Ben

It is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Big Ben is a clock tower at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London. The tower was designed by Augustus Pugin and completed in 1858. Big Ben has become a symbol of London and British politics.

Many people come here just to see this iconic landmark even though there is no access to the interior from outside or inside. You can see this tower from every corner of Westminster as it is illuminated with nighttime lights, making it even more beautiful. It remains open from 9 am till 4 pm during weekdays and from 10 am till 5 pm on weekends (except for public holidays).

The National Gallery

This gallery has over 2,300 paintings from some of Europe’s most famous artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti.

The collection includes works by Botticelli, Rembrandt van Rijn, Rubens, Turner and Constable, among others.
