The British Museum

The British Museum is one of the most famous museums in London and attracts millions of visitors annually. It was established by Sir Hans Sloane in 1753 and was later opened to the public in 1759. The museum holds over eight million objects from different parts of the world, including ancient sculptures, jewellery, coins, manuscripts and paintings. 

The museum also has an extensive library which houses over 150 languages, including Latin, Greek, Egyptian hieroglyphics, Chinese and Hebrew. Big Ben

It is one of the most famous landmarks in the world. Big Ben is a clock tower at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London. The tower was designed by Augustus Pugin and completed in 1858. Big Ben has become a symbol of London and British politics. 

Many people come here just to see this iconic landmark even though there is no access to the interior from outside or inside. You can see this tower from every corner of Westminster as it is illuminated with nighttime lights, making it even more beautiful. It remains open from 9 am till 4 pm during weekdays and from 10 am till 5 pm on weekends (except for public holidays).

 

The National Gallery

This gallery has over 2,300 paintings from some of Europe’s most famous artists like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti. 

The collection includes works by Botticelli, Rembrandt van Rijn, Rubens, Turner and Constable, among others.
